Hanna Kaufman
As an architect, graduated in Architecture and Urban Design from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC) and in History of Art from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, my work process brings together the various disciplines of architecture, art and design.
While working as an architect and practicing traditional silversmithing in my own studio, I developed a personal language as a contemporary jewellery artist.
Influenced by Japanese esthetics (especially the concept of the Wabisabi “perfect imperfection”) as well as by modern minimalist design, my jewellery reflects a certain balance between pure primary geometric forms along with shapes and textures inspired by nature.
Based on traditional silversmithing, I kept experimenting with new materials such as polymers and patinas, and integrated them with silver, brass and gold metals, creating subtle yet elegant contemporary Jewellery.
